Want a Dodge Dart Special Edition? This one just needs a transmission. Posted by Picasa
Yesterday I went to the theater after the Crazy for You rehearsal was over and programmed the keyboard for the show. Rachel punched out from the costume shop and sat with me in the pit (where after five years at Music Circus she had never been before). She actually helped a lot and also took this picture. This mystery piece of wood has been hanging around this piano for years, but I can't figure out where it would go. Maybe it doesn't belong to the piano at all. Posted by Picasa

This guy playing keyboard on a trash can in Berkeley reminded me of the guy playing keyboards in the Chicago Pedway. Posted by Picasa
From a Japanese restaurant where we had lunch today. Posted by Picasa
At the Naan N Curry restaurant in Berkeley, they have this giant Bollywood poster on the wall. The guy at the counter was studying a book on cellular structure while he took our order. Posted by Picasa

Many little girls have come to the show dressed as Belle. One night we had a mother and daughter both wearing a yellow Belle dress. Posted by Picasa

My two favorite containers, plus an enchanted one. Posted by Picasa
This display is in the window of Art Ellis, where I bought a mechanical pencil today. It has nothing to do with the art supplies sold inside. Posted by Picasa

Gordon, who is playing on West Side Story and will be playing with me on Once on This Island. Gordon lives in West Hollywood and we had a nice talk about life in Los Angeles.
Stan put his laptop on my keyboard to show everyone some pictures of sidewalk art by Julian Beever. Amazing! Posted by Picasa

I actually did a gig with Johnny Crawford (the boy on the TV Guide cover) a couple of years ago. His child actor days long behind him (he was also a Mouseketeer) he now does 20s style crooning with a band. He drove up all the way from LA for the job in Orangevale. (about 7 hours) Posted by Picasa
I hope to live my life in such an exemplary fashion that Espresso Metro will name this wall after me. Posted by Picasa

Bill has a lovely collection of pop culture collectibles, including this painting of Huckleberry Hound. Posted by Picasa
Justin Green, the semi-famous, semi-legendary underground cartoonist, made this drawing table and left it with journalist Bill Forman (pictured in background). Bill is leaving town and couldn't keep it, so Justin wanted me to have it. I decided not to, but did take Justin's books he got from the Famous Artist School course in cartooning. What a treasure! Eric Johnston

This is the photo on Stan's laptop below. Visit Eric's website, where
he advertises "one stop shopping for the actor's musical needs."

Tim Acosta

Tim, who has played every musical you can name, has been complaining about this reduced orchestration of Beauty, which asks him to make impossible instrument changes. At the end of last night's performance, he said, "Another perfect show! How do we do it?"

Stan never goes anywhere without his laptop. Here we are at a between-show dinner. He is showing everyone his photo of Eric, who plays Key 1 on Beauty. Posted by Picasa

The last twist tie in existence

Or at least the last one in this dispenser. Posted by Picasa
This is the Russian doll that Rachel got on eBay (from Ukraine!) and gave to Natasha for her birthday. It sings a song in Russian, which Natasha translated for us. Posted by Picasa
Rachel's roommate at (UC Irvine) Natasha drove over from Benicia to see the show today. Natasha dances and studies Russian. Both she and Rachel are part Russian, so they're like sisters! Tasha enjoys the way Rachel and I banter with each other: "Can I just sit behind you guys and listen?" "We get that a lot," I said. Posted by Picasa

Stan's foot pedals: cowbell, woodblock, bass drum, and high hat. Posted by Picasa
During intermission we were standing by one of the concession stands and noticed what we first thought was a condom dispenser. We laughed and then commented on the appropriateness of the name of each show as a brand name for condoms ("Grease", etc.) Posted by Picasa

My new home page is done.

Jill finished uploading my new website last night. She is a tuning customer. During the last tuning, we started talking and she said she needed a music clip for a website she was working on. I said I could make it for her and would do it in trade for her redoing my website. She agreed and ended up going way overboard (in a good way).
