This is my first saint painting. I might work on the background a little (like put on a green undercoat and then red) but it's basically done. Thanks to Rachel for giving me the idea of buying old albums for the art on the cover. I forget what album this woman came from... possibly Burt Bacharach.
It's funny... there is a recurring motif in contemporary painting of the "floating" brushstroke that casts a shadow. Here you have something similar, except it's a real object, not trompe l'oeil.
