Outside the Crest Theater, this is what I called the "door to nowhere." Alan the bass player corrected me, saying it is the "door from nowhere."

This is an access door to make any needed service to the Crest Theatre's right Altec-Lansing "Voice of the Theatre" film system loudspeaker. The center and left speakers also jet out from the rear of the theatre building as he projection screen and it's frame are only 6 inches from the back wall. To be sure, the center and left loudspeakers also have doors to and from nowhere. The doored speaker housings were placed on the back wall in 1949 when the remodeled Hipodrome theatre opened as the Crest. Warmly, Matias
