These two palms used to stand at the entrance to the Palms Playhouse in Davis, one of the most interesting local music venues. When I first moved to Sacramento, you could easily see them from the freeway because there was nothing around. Then south Davis started getting filled up with tract homes. Finally the Palms Playhouse (an old barn, really) got knocked down in favor of tract homes. The trees got moved to two corners on either side of Albany Avenue. The one on the left doesn't look too healthy. Posted by Picasa

I saw Frenchy Burke and Martin Sexton at the Palms. Such an intimate theatre; it was like sitting on the lap of the artist.

The Palms wasn't replaced by a shopping mall...and this isn't Ohio.

The Palms was replaced by houses.

I stand corrected. But I don't get what you mean about Ohio.
