The late Tommy Mingo (second from left) had a music store in downtown Sacramento and also played accordion in a popular trio. Today I tuned his sister's piano and she showed me this photo. You can see the trio with three famous men: Lou Costello, Bud Abbott, and Max Baer.

I used to shop at his store in the Raley's mall in Madison Ave, in Fair Oaks between the years 1966 and 1969, or so. One of the the first things I bought, besides picks was a Mickey Baker jazz guitar instruction book. Though, my mom bought me my first guitar from Tiny Moore. I *think* his studio was on El Camino Avenue. It was a Guild Starfire IV; wish I still had it.
For a couple of years in the mid
Fifties, Tommy Mingo taught me accordion. I still play from time to time, and I have music he wrote out for me. "Lady of Spain" was one piece. Great to see this picture.
I used to shop at his Raley's Mall store as well in the 1960's. My mom bought my first guitar from T.M. I really wanted that used Rickenbacker instead; it was only about 100 dollars then.
That photo with Tommy along with Abbott and Costello used to hang on the wall in his store. Great memories. RTW
